Storywork and production on Pooh are moving along. As a staffer told me:
“We had our third screening of Winnie the Pooh with John Lasseter, and the picture’s in good shape. John loves the characters. In fact, some sequences go to workbook next week and animation will be starting up. There’s already been some test animation in color.
“This picture has just zipped along. We took dialogue out of the Milne books, the storyboard artists added some of their own, then the directors Don Hall and Steve Anderson polished it. We didn’t have an outside writer on it, just the board artists and the directors. I think the whole picture will be done by next summer …”
Ben Price: News - 11/12/09…Production Weekly has let it be known who will be playing the voices in the new “Winnie the Pooh” film…
Veteran actor Jim Cummings will play both the part of Pooh & Tigger, Rabbit will be voiced by Tom Kenny and Owl will have talk show host/Drew Carey alum Craig Ferguson in the part.

On Set for the new Wiinie the Pooh Movie…
It wasn’t exactly the news that animation fans were expecting. That Walt Disney Animation Studios would be following up “The Princess and the Frog” (i.e. The Company’s much anticipated return to hand-drawn animation) with a feature-length Winnie the Pooh project.
Ah, but there was method to the Mouse’s madness. After several years of experimenting with A.A. Milne’s much beloved characters (EX: Using virtual sets as well as the Japanese “Bunraku” puppeteering technique for Playhouse Disney’s “The Book of Pooh” show to make it appears as though this set of stuffed animals had actually come to life …
